Checkbox or Radio with “Other” Option

Updated:

These fields are part of the PRO version, which is not as expensive as you might think—it’s meant to support maintenance.

Enhance your forms with flexible “Other” inputs. Like Google Forms, it lets users choose from predefined options or add their own custom responses. It supports both checkboxes (multiple-choice) and radio buttons (single-choice), with input types configurable as text or textarea.

Setup instructions

  1. Enable the fields. Go to your WordPress Dashboard → Settings → Form Enhancer.
Locate the Radio Field with “Other” Option and/or the Checkbox Field with “Other” Option and toggle it on:
  2. Adding the Field to a Form. Once enabled:
    • Open your Fluent Form or create a new one.
    • Add a new field as usual – The new Radio+ (with “Other”) and Checkbox+ (with “Other”) fields are available among the standard field types.
    • Drag and drop the desired field into your form.
    • Add “standard” options, and then remember to choose Label for your “Other” option and the field type—you can choose between text input and textarea.
    • When the user selects the “Other” option, the text input or textarea content will be used as the value.

Due to editor limitations, the plugin’s “Other” option won’t appear in the admin form builder. It only occurs when the form is rendered on the front end or preview mode.

Notes

Existing checkbox and radio fields can’t be converted to enhanced fields—you’ll need to re-add them manually.
